Farha Moosa, HBCE, WOMBS Doula

Area: Cape Town (Southern Suburbs)
I am a unit coordinator, WOMBS Doula and trainee Postpartum Care Specialist with a passion for helping women while pregnant and after with care and education so that they can make the right choices for each process.
I am married with four children. When I was pregnant with my first child (a son born in 2009) I found out about HypnoBirthing, because of financial constraints couldn't do the course. In the end I had an epidural and my baby was born with a suction cap on his head.
For the birth of my second son (born in 2011), I was able to have a 2 hour 'jam session' in HypnoBirthing. I was unable to birth naturally, however, and so my baby was born via Caesar.
My third child was an elective Caesar due to complications, but at very least while I was pregnant I managed to do the full HypnoBirthing course with my husband as my birthing companion.
19 months later I had a HBA2C ( home birth after 2 Caesars) in 2016. I practiced my HypnoBirthing every day to make sure I was fully prepared this time, and managed to have the most peaceful labour and birth out of all my children. I gave birth naturally with no pain meds.
Qualifications
I qualified as a HypnoBirthing Practitioner in May 2017 (Mongan Method). I am also a qualified WOMBS Doula (2012) and I'm currently a trainee Postpartum Care Specialist.
